Komodo National Park is home to some of Indonesia's most famous dive sites, with different areas offering different underwater experiences. From colourful coral reefs and large schools of fish to manta rays, sharks and exciting currents, there is always something to discover. The dive sites are generally divided into North, Central and South Komodo, with conditions and marine life varying between each area.

North Komodo

North Komodo is well known for clear water, vibrant coral reefs, large schools of fish and exciting currents. It is home to some of Komodo's most famous sites.

Batu Bolong

Batu Bolong is one of Komodo's iconic dive sites. The small rocky island is covered in colourful coral and surrounded by an incredible variety of marine life. Strong currents around the rock can attract large schools of fish and make this an exciting dive for experienced divers.

Castle Rock

Castle Rock is a submerged reef known for strong currents and abundant marine life. Divers can encounter large schools of fish, reef sharks and other pelagic species while drifting around the reef.

Crystal Rock

Crystal Rock is another popular North Komodo site, offering colourful coral, schools of fish and opportunities to encounter larger marine life. The site can have strong currents, making it particularly exciting for experienced divers.

Central Komodo

Central Komodo offers a mixture of coral reefs, calmer bays and famous manta ray cleaning and feeding areas.

Manta Point

Manta Point is one of the best-known areas in Komodo for encountering manta rays. Divers can watch these impressive animals glide through the water and, when conditions are right, visit cleaning stations where mantas gather.Manta sightings are wildlife encounters and can never be guaranteed.

Tatawa

Tatawa is known for its colourful coral reefs and abundant reef fish. Depending on the conditions, the site can also offer exciting drift diving along the reef.

Siaba

Siaba is a sheltered area that can offer calmer diving conditions compared with some of Komodo's current-heavy sites. Its reefs are home to a variety of tropical fish and smaller marine life, making it an enjoyable site for a range of divers.

Cauldron

Cauldron is famous for its strong current and exciting drift dive. The dive can take you through channels and past colourful reefs while large schools of fish and other marine life gather around the current.Because conditions can be challenging, the site is best suited to divers with appropriate experience.

South Komodo

South Komodo is famous for its cooler, nutrient-rich waters, spectacular coral reefs and excellent opportunities for marine-life encounters.

Cannibal Rock

Cannibal Rock is a colourful reef with an incredible variety of marine life. Divers can explore coral-covered rock formations while looking for reef fish, nudibranchs, turtles and other smaller creatures.

Manta Alley

Manta Alley is one of the most famous manta sites in Komodo. The nutrient-rich southern waters attract manta rays, giving divers the opportunity to observe these animals in their natural environment.
